Cleo A. Borns' Obituary
Mrs. Cleo A. Borns, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 19, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born on September 17, 1941 to Lawry and Dallas (Markle) Hermesdorf in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Cleo married the love of her life, Walter Borns, on October 24, 1964 and he survives her. Cleo worked as a hairstylist for several years around town before working with Walt at his shop, Borns Market. She was an amazingly talented sketch artist and had a great sense of humor. Cleo loved laughing with her family, especially her grandchildren and twin sister, Carol, whom she had a special bond with. Walt and Cleo attended church services at the former Kainey Community Church, now known as Port City Church. The two also took several European vacations with their children, Stacey and Kevin, when they were young adults. Cleo’s smile and kind heart will always be remembered by her husband of nearly 59 years, Walt; children, Stacey (Jim) Hanenburg and Kevin (Vicki) Borns; grandchildren, Braeden Trowbridge and Reese Trowbridge, and Brittany Thompson (fiancé Kyle Skodak), Devon (Meghan) Thompson, and Blake Jordan-Borns. She was preceded in death by her twin, Carol Ferencsik, and parents. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, October 28 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Memorial contributions may be directed to Promedica Hospice Memorial Fund in Cleo's memory.
