Clifford Gordon VanderWeg's Obituary
Mr. Clifford G. VanderWeg, age 89, died Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Brookhaven Medical Care Facility. Cliff was born January 10, 1926 in Muskegon to Koo and Minnie (Johnson) VanderWeg and had been a life resident of the area. Cliff was a member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church where he had served as a Deacon and had been a member of its Men’s Life. He had also served as the Allen Avenue representative to the Project Philip ministry of Muskegon for many years. Cliff had been a funeral assistant at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. for 45 years, prior to his retirement on January 1, 1991. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, John. SURVIVORS include his adopted Sytsema family, Bob and Mary and John and Sue of Norton Shores, Marilyn and Manuel Solorio of Lodi, CA and by all of their children, Marty and Heidi Sytsema, Paul (Deceased) and Stephanie Sytsema, Sarah and Andy Kanaar, Katie and Victor Tituson, Scott and Rebecca Sytsema, Todd and Nancy Sytsema, Craig and Jennifer Sytsema, Andrew Solorio and Mark Solorio. FUNERAL SERVICES for Cliff will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100.). Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery. VISITATION for Cliff will be held 5-7:00 PM Monday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Muskegon Christian School or Western Michigan Christian High School will be appreciated.
