Clifford H. "Red" Campbell's Obituary
Mr. Clifford H. “Red” Campbell, age 84, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2004. He was born March 25, 1918 in Grant, MI to Alex and Agnes (Linken) Campbell and lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Southwest Pacific Theater during WWII. On December 30, 1944, he married the former June E. Higgins in Bailey, MI. He worked as a welder for Brown Morse Co. for 40 years and retired in 1982. He was a member of the VFW #3195, American Legion in Hesperia, and the DAV Chapter #11 in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife, June; 3 children, Douglas (Joy) Campbell, Cindy (Butch) Stromberg, Craig (Peggy) Campbell; 8 grandchildren, Julie (Peter) Sass, Matthew Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Marty (Robin) Stromberg, Melissa Esterling, Shelley Stromberg, Jennifer (Ryan) Miller, Erica (Jason) Packard; 3 great grandchildren, Kayla Esterling, Cameron Packard and Cody Stromberg; and 1 sister, Carolyn VanNatter of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Russell and Roland Campbell, and 1 sister, Vivian Powney. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 4:00 PM Monday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210 with the Rev. John H. Brown officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Ashland Center Cemetery in Grant. VISITATION with Red’s family will be 3-4 PM Monday at the funeral home.
