Clyde L. "Gus" Gurzynski's Obituary
Clyde “Gus” Gurzynski, age 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side. He was born April 20, 1935 in Ludington, MI to Clyde H. and Flossie (Phillippo) Gurzynski. Gus worked as an iron worker for Steel Fabricating in Muskegon for 30 years. He then worked 22 years for Fruitport Twp. in park maintenance prior to his retirement. On September 14, 1957, he married the love of his life, the former Donna L. Kramer in Muskegon. Gus enjoyed ice fishing, restoring antique cars, trucks, and furniture, and also doing yard work. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and generosity. But most of all, Gus loved spending time with his family and will be dearly missed. SURVIVORS include his beloved wife, Donna; 3 daughters: Pamela Baker of Muskegon, Michelle (Mark) Blanchette of Fruitport, Rhonda Sidock of Norton Shores; 4 grandchildren: Derek (Jennifer) Baker, Taylor Blanchette, Carly Blanchette, Paige (Justin Alexander) Sidock; his great-granddaughter, Adalyn Rose Alexander (that he adored); sister, Joan Hanks of Norton Shores; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kramer; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend (that he loved like a son), Matt Vallee. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Blake Harris Blanchette; niece, Penny Habetler; and brother-in-law, Milburn Hanks. A CELEBRATION OF GUS’ LIFE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2019 at Unity Reformed Church (1521 Porter Rd.) with Pastor David Celeskey officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 PM Sunday, March 10, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to the Harbor Hospice Foundation or Unity Reformed Church.
