Cody Scott VanLente-Homfeld's Obituary
Cody Scott VanLente-Homfeld, age 31, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. He was born on October 28, 1991 to Kirstin (Homfeld) DeMaio and Bradley VanLente. Cody attended Reeths-Puffer Schools and Muskegon Community College and had worked for Wilbur Products (Motiv) for the past five years. Cody's absolute favorite thing was spending time with his daughter Sofia, who he loved and adored beyond measure. He was an accomplished guitar player and an extremely talented artist and his amazing portraits of family and friends will be cherished forever. Cody was a bigger than life personality; a fitting description of him was that you knew when Cody was in the room. He loved ferociously and was known for his big heart, big hugs and incredible sense of humor. Cody will be forever missed by his family and many friends, especially his lifelong companions that he referred to as Da Boys. He is survived by his daughter, Sofia and her Mother, Tessa Anderson; his Mother, Kirstin DeMaio (David Rikkers); Father, Bradley (Brooke) VanLente; Siblings: Anthony DeMaio, Tiffany DeMaio, Gabrielle (Tyler) Wright and Dominic DeMaio IV; Grandmother, Darlene Homfeld; Grandfather, Bill VanLente; Grandfather, Ron (Jan) Kubicek; and many special Aunts and Uncles, Cousins, Nephews and Niece. He was preceded in death by his Stepfather, Dominic DeMaio III; Grandfather, Bob Homfeld Sr.; Grandmother, Darlene Kubicek; and Grandparents, Alex and Joan DeMaio. VISITATION for Cody will take place from 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231)798-1100. Family and friends will hold a Celebration of his Life at a later date with the location and details announced once available.
