I did not know he had such a distinguished service award in WWII. I was impressed.
Although I didn’t know him well, I did enjoy brief visits with you and him at the Holiday Inn. He was always very joyful.

I have many special memories of Col Joe Tucker that go back as far as I can remember. As a close family friend and the father of one of my closest friends we spent many special moments together at family events, fishing, hunting, or just discussing military affairs. It was with a sad heart that I read the news to my Mom about Col. Tucker's passing. His wonderful smile, his special presence, his love of life are fond memories for me and my family. Uncle Joe was a very generous and loving man. A WW2 hero who went on to achieve a great career in his beloved Michigan Army National Guard. We were blessed to have him in our lives and treasured his friendship.Gary enjoyed the many coversations and exchanges about life,fishing,family and the Guard. He commanded a presence with his infectious enthusiasm for life whether it was on his boat with Sie or holding court during Anuual Training at the Officers Club in Camp Graying.
