Colleen T. Fairfield's Obituary
Colleen Therese Fairfield, age 89, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 in Grand Haven, MI. She was born December 10, 1935, in Greenland, MI, to Earl and Grace (Herlisch) Harrington. Colleen worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield as the Native American Insurance Program Manager for over 20 years prior to her retirement in 1995. On July 7, 1990, Colleen married her second husband, Ivan G. Fairfield, in Escanaba, Michigan. She was a devoted member of St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette, MI. Colleen cherished time with her family and had a passion for reading, ceramics, and knitting. She and Ivan also enjoyed spending winters together in Florida. SURVIVORS include her husband of 35 years, Ivan; five children: Mark Anderson, Therese (Scott) Letts, Lisa (Mark) Herrod, Danny (Paula) Anderson, and David Anderson; step-children: Toni (Tim) Cook, Leslie (Nancy) Fairfield, and Susan (Mark) Patterson; 13 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Tom (Mary Ann) Harrington; two sisters: Gay Mitchell and Leanne Green; and several nieces and nephews. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edward Anderson; and her infant son, Robert Thomas Anderson. SERVICES for Colleen will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to Shriners International or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will be appreciated.
