My deepest sympathy goes out to Ellen and the entire Murphy family. Unfortunately, I learned of your loss after the memorial but my heart goes out to you now. Wish I could have been there. Although I didn't know Bob in adulthood, to say that he was a "man of service" is to confer the highest honor possible. He will continue to live in those whose lives he touched.

To the Murphy family,so sorry to hear about Bob. He was a great friend and classmate at WHS class of "73". It was a pleasure to see Bob and talk to him at a couple of our class reunions. RIP BOB AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY!

(Michelle, I sent you a friend request on Facebook last week. I hadn’t heard back from you so I have reposted it here. This was written after Bob passed.) It will be from Bev (Gibson) Kavouras. Art Harrison got in touch with us on Tuesday to tell us about your dear Bob. You have both been on my mind so! I can’t even imagine the nightmare of your week, but wanted you to know that you and your family have been in my prayers. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen you two, but what I remember most about you and Bob were your great smiles! When I found you on Facebook, I knew it was you by your smile. Larry and I are so very sorry for your loss and all that you’ve been through this week. You will continue to be held in our prayers. Prayers that you stay strong for you’ve got a tough week ahead of you. Not to mention after that. Frank Scoggins, Sammy Small, Mike Foster and of course Hog have been in touch with me today. They all were concerned about Bob and you. Hugs dear Michelle!
Michell and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers are with you! as they were that night. Lisa Snyder
Dear Michell and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Murph always met you with a smile, a shake and a hug. He was a great leader, rugger, and friend to all. I am so sorry I could not attend the reunion in October. He is an inspiration to all who knew him. Godspeed Murph. Thoughts and prayers to you Michell and your family.
God Bless,

Dear Michelle and precious family,
I am so sorry for your loss and for the grief and sadness you are all experiencing right now! What a shock to hear of Bob's death--still having trouble processing it, so I can only imagine how terribly difficult this time is for all of you. I am so thankful I had the privilege to know Bob and to be in Life Group with him. Words cannot express what a blessing he was to me and my girls. Bob took time to serve us during a time of trial in our lives, and he went above and beyond friendship, showing us the love of Christ with his compassion and kindness. He was a funny and great guy, and he will be missed by so many! I wish I could be in Michigan to share my sympathies in person, but please know that I am faithfully praying for your family and have asked other friends to do the same. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that Bob is home with his Heavenly Father where he will be for eternity. I pray today as you celebrate Bob and remember him and grieve with your love ones that you will feel the comfort and peace that only God can bring. Love to you all!

Nothing but fond memories working for Bob in the KSANG. One of the best to have flown with - always calm, collected and a great down to earth person. You’ll always have plenty of altitude and strong tail winds my friend. Deepest sympathy to the family.
