Concetta "Connie" Margaret Sirianni's Obituary
Mrs. Concetta “Connie” M. Sirianni, age 79, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013 at her home. She was born September 4, 1933 in Carbondale, PA to Frank and Teresa (Futia) Sirianni and lived most of her life in the Muskegon area. Connie worked for Continental Motors, Meijer, Inc. and as a reading aide for Fruitport Schools. Passionate about family, kids, reading, teaching and learning, Connie embraced her iPad and 2 Kindles to read, communicate with family, and “Google” anything that caught her interest. Her life exemplified how to be positive, show strength in difficult times, and value what one has. On September 24, 1955, she married Robert Policka and he preceded her in death in 1960. Connie did a remarkable job of working 2 jobs and raising 5 children. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include her children, Robert Policka of Kalkaska, Kathy (Patrick) Kitchens of Stockbridge, GA, Greg (Sarah) McElrath of Spring Lake, Jeff McElrath of Fruitport, MaryAnne (Todd) Zimmer of Spring Lake; 8 grandchildren, Lauren Kitchens, Kaleigh Policka, Logan McLaren, Madelyn McLaren, Marisa McElrath, Shanna McElrath, Dakota Zimmer, MacKayla Zimmer; 2 brothers, Joseph (Harriet) Sirianni and Frank Sirianni, Jr. both of Muskegon; 4 sisters, Nancy Panozzo, Helen King both of Muskegon, Theresa Perry of Florida, Carmel (Bill) Greer of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jackie and Hannah Derby. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters, Catherine Belmonte and Mary Sirianni. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 4, 2013 (Connie’s Birthday) at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the Mass, 10-11 AM Wednesday. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
