Connie Mae Johnston's Obituary
Connie Mae Johnston, age 75, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023 at Trinity Health – Muskegon Campus. She was born October 15, 1947 in Muskegon to Francis O. and Betty J. (Scott) Johnston and was a lifelong resident. Connie worked over 50 years as a waitress for area restaurants including El Royal, Whitlows, Irvings among many others. She also enjoyed catering and cooking during those years. Connie attended Fruitport Word of Hope Church and was active with LifeCircles and the Fruitport Eagles. She enjoyed country music, especially the music of John J. She loved to dance and spend time outdoors up north at the cabin in Mesick, MI. Survivors include 2 children, Tim (Tracy) Breitwisch, Tina Breitwisch; 4 grandchildren, Trevor Breitwisch, Trenton Breitwisch, Holly Swain, Rae Breitwisch; one great-granddaughter, October; 2 sisters, Charmin Parini and Charlotte Weir; and the Vanderlinde step-children. She was preceded in death by her long-time companion, Bill Vanderlinde and her former spouse, Truman Gale. A Celebration of Life will be held 5-8 PM Monday, August 7, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444.
