Connie Saylor's Obituary
Mrs. Connie Saylor, age 78, of Grand Haven, Michigan, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025. She was born August 3, 1946, in Troy, IL to William Schmidt Sr and LaVern (Mueller) Schmidt. On June 29, 2020 she married her devoted and loving husband, John (a.k.a. Rick) Saylor.
She attended Triad High School in Troy through her sophomore year, then moved to Edwardsville, IL where she graduated from Edwardsville High School in 1964. She worked many years as a hairdresser and esthetician. She enjoyed biking, swimming, walking, and traveling.
Connie was full of life, and a wonderfully generous person. Many described her as "sweet". She was widely known for creating and hosting fun and exciting experiences for the people she loved. Her house was often filled with guests enjoying her hospitality.
Connie is survived by her husband, Rick, siblings, William Jr (Alicia) Schmidt, Jeffrey (Paul) Schmidt, and Suzanne Owens, nephews, Nathan (Liz), Anton, Eric, and great niece Sage, and great nephew Wesley. She was preceded in death by her first husband Michael Tessaro, who was killed in action in Vietnam, her parents William Sr and LaVern.
She will be greatly missed.
