Mr. Conrad Gilbert "Sonny" McClain's Obituary
Conrad Gilbert "Sonny" McClain passed away on July 9, 2014. Sonny was born on May 29, 1931 to Willis and Barbara McClain. He married the former Shirley Wright in 1950 and together they were blessed with 4 children. Sonny worked as a brake mechanic at Muskegon Brake for many years. He enjoyed singing and golfing. He played baseball and hockey and enjoyed playing games with family and friends. Sonny was an avid Tigers and Red Wings fan. Sonny's relationship with Jesus will long be remembered by the way he loved to sing and worship his Lord. He traveled and sang for many years with the McClain Family Quartet, the Gospel Team Quartet and at his local church. Sonny is SURVIVED by his wife, Shirley; children, Victoria Fox, Rick (Ramona), Rich (Chris), and Lori McClain Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; 8 brothers; 4 sisters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Willis and Barbara; and infant brother, Mark. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00 am at Trinity Baptist Church 4381 S. Sheridan Drive in Muskegon. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the start of the service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Trinity Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.
