Constance A. "Connie" Hillstead's Obituary
Mrs. Constance A. “Connie” Hillstead, age 92, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at Newaygo Medical Care Facility. She was born February 2, 1913 in Woodville, WI to Peter and Alma (Olson) Hanson and lived in the Muskegon area since 1942. On May 24, 1930, she married Edmund O. Hillstead in Stillwater, MN, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1972. She was active at the Senior Center in Whitehall and their “Kitchen Band”. SURVIVORS include 4 children, Virgil (Joan) Hillstead of Kalamazoo, Roger (Joan) Hillstead of Muskegon, Verna Mae (Rudolf) Gross of Hesperia, Marlene (Arno) Guske of Grand Haven; and 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her infant twin daughters, 1 brother, Marvin Hanson and 2 sisters, Alice Halderson and Alvera Larson. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210, with the Rev. Dieter Haupt officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Friday.
