Mrs. Harris and family have always held a special place in my life and the lives of the entire Garrod family. As a 12 year old, moving to a new home, and attending a new church, you all made us feel so welcome. This past summer at the Church of the Dunes mortgage burning, I had an opportunity to visit with Cora and I am thankful for that. Her warmth and love and spirit will live forever.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I was sewing yesterday and thought about all her help when I was learning to sew. I remember the shirt dress I sewed with all the button holes and her helping me with the automatic buttonhole attachment. She was a great seamstress. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Mrs Harris was such a big part of a Church of the Dunes generation of seemingly tireless women making the church a wonderful place to be. Cora was a gently lovely lady and it is sad to see her go! Hugs to Gwen and her siblings! Ruth Achterhof
I only knew Cora for a short time. She had turned in the reins of scheudling Grand Haven and Spring Lake Blood Drive Volunteers, but worked the drives herself whenever I asked. She was a dedicated volunteer, who will be greatly missed.

Your mom was a wonderful lady. I was saddened to read about her passing, however it was a good time to reflect on those "Parent Teacher Conferences" at Ferry School many years ago. You were lucky to have such a role model. One of the most treasured possessions a loved one leaves is a heart full of loving memories
