Mrs. Coral Speed's Obituary
Mrs. Coral Speed, age 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, November 1, 2013. She was born March 5, 1922 in Remus, MI to Charles and Mabel (Sellars) McArthur. Mrs. Speed worked as a data processor for many years at CWC Textron before retirement and was also a member of Crestwood United Methodist Church. In 1942 she married Howard E. Speed and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1993. SURVIVORS include her daughter, Cathy (Mike Johnson) Mullins of Shelby Twp.; 2 grandsons, Matthew Benedict, Mark (Jennifer) Benedict; 4 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Chloe, Nella, and Lydia Benedict; sister, Jeanne (Walter) Ritter of Roosevelt Park; and sister-in-law, Marlene McArthur. She was also very loved by her many nieces and nephews and good friends. Mrs. Speed was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert and Larry McArthur; and 2 sisters, Eileen Nummerdor and Marjorie Prus. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with Pastor Walt Ritter officiating. Burial will take place in Fruitland Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
