Cornelis "Casey" Timmerman's Obituary
Mr. Cornelis “Casey” Timmerman, age 84, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday morning, September 18, 2010, from his home in Grand Haven. Casey was a life-long, God fearing man and is now at Peace for all eternity. Casey was born February 24, 1926 in the Netherlands and immigrated in May of 1953 to Montague, Michigan, where he worked and became a partner in Weesies Bros. Farms Inc., until his retirement in 1985. Casey had been an active member of New Era Christian Reformed Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon; and had been a dedicated volunteer at New Era Christian School where he had also served on it’s Board of Directors. Since moving to Grand Haven five years ago, Casey has been a member of Second Christian Reformed Church. On June 15, 1951 he married the former Jennie Hoving and she survives him along with 5 children, Dena (Dr. Arden) Alexander of Norton Shores, Jane (David) Dornbos of Grand Haven, Wilma (Ken) Doctor of Fruitport Twp., Linda (Jeff) Jeltema of Grand Rapids and John (Jodi) Timmerman of Norton Shores; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters from the Netherlands. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 11AM Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Second Christian Reformed Church (2021 Sheldon Rd. Grand Haven, MI 49417) with Pastor Michael Koetje officiating. Burial will be in Lake Forest Cemetery. VISITATION with Casey’s family will be 5-8PM Monday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444(231-798-1100).
