Craig Jones' Obituary
Mr. Harold Craig Jones, age 47, passed away at his home on Friday, March 6, 2020 following a 2 year fight against brain cancer. Craig was born in Grand Haven, Michigan on February 7, 1973 to Harold F. and Dawn (Bishop) Jones. He graduated from Fruitport High School, class of 1992 and was a veteran of the United States Army. On September 18, 1999, Craig married his high school sweetheart, Brandy Karchinski. Craig was employed by Axis Automation as a Controls Engineer prior to his medical retirement. He was an avid hunter, passionate outdoorsman, and well respected throughout the hunting community. Craig was an active member of Pheasants Forever, Ruffed Grouse Society, and was a NAVHDA judge and President of the local NAVHDA chapter (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association). Craig lived each day doing the things he loved and spending time with the people that made him happy. He loved his family, his dogs, and mentoring other fellow NAVHDA members. Craig was diagnosed with brain cancer in January of 2018 and was only given 14 months to live. He fought with everything he had and nearly doubled the amount of time the doctors gave him. He underwent four brain surgeries, chemotherapy, and radiation. Throughout everything he endured, he kept living passionately doing the things he loved, and keeping his sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Brandy; two children Dusty and Zane; mother and step-father, Dawn and Tom Wood; step-mother, Carol Jones; parents-in-law, Joseph and Margo Karchinski; and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold F. Jones.
