Cre Michael DuRocher's Obituary
Cre Michael DuRocher, age 56, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. He was born December 31, 1964 in Oakland, CA. Cre graduated from Mona Shores High School. He attended Cornish Institute of Art in Seattle, WA. In all walks of life, Cre favored the backroads through his love of exploring and creating. He was a free spirit. He had a sharp wit and a Good Heart. He was a prolific and Great Artist. He loved playing his guitar, piano, drums and playing pranks whom he learned from Joe Zag. Cre will live on in our hearts. The family would like to thank all the staff at Davita on Apple Ave. and the doctors and staff and Chaplain Heather Dean at Mercy Hospital 5th Floor. All of you were so kind and caring to Cre and his mother. Survivors include his mother, Martha D. Sklenar of Roosevelt Park; his son, Oren DuRocher of Brooklyn, NY; his niece, Maya (Nathan) Royce and their daughter, Oaklyn Jean Royce; his uncle, Edward (Carol) Sklenar of Arnold, MO; Oren’s mother, Jessica Baldwin of Berkley, CA; and several cousins in Michigan, Colorado, Ohio and Missouri; Judith Winchester of Texas; and his many friends in New York. Cre was preceded in death by his grandparents, Michael and Catherine Sklenar; his sister, Debora Kay DuRocher; Joe Zagaroli; his uncles, William (Dorothy) Sklenar and Robert Sklenar; his aunt, Betzy Sklenar; and his cousin, Kenneth Sklenar. There will be no public services and burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
