Dale Degner's Obituary
Mr. Dale P. Degner, age 43, loving father, son, and brother passed away early Monday morning at Hackley Hospital surrounded by his family. Dale was a man who enjoyed life, and was never afraid to show his love and generosity to those he came in contact with. He was born August 10, 1966 in Omaha, Nebraska to Wayne and Debbie (Lloyd) Degner, and lived almost all his life in the West Michigan area. He was a 1984 graduate of Reeths Puffer High School. Dale loved nature, sunsets, the moon and stars, golfing, and music. He was an excellent cook and mushroom hunter. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Amanda and Andrew Degner, both living in Rockford; his mother and father, Debbie and Wayne Degner of Norton Shores; 1 sister, Deedrai (Chris) Slater of Grand Rapids; 2 nieces, Reka and Lydia Slater; grandparents, Harvey C. Lloyd and Lorraine J. Wells; the mother of his children, Theresa A. Riek of Rockford; faithful friend and companion, his black lab Tugger; aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl O. Degner; and his maternal grandmother, Anne K. Lloyd.
