Dale Arthur DeMarr's Obituary
Mr. Dale Arthur DeMarr, age 83, passed away at his home on Sunday, May 10, 2020. He was born in Muskegon on October 30, 1936 to James and Angeline (Bishop) DeMarr. Dale was a veteran of the United States National Guard, serving for 26 years and retiring as Command Sergeant Major. He was employed by General Telephone for 35 years prior to his retirement in 1992. Dale was a licensed private detective with the State of Michigan and had served as the former Chief of Police for Roosevelt Park and former Chief of Security for the Milwaukee Clipper. Dale was a member of Calvary Bible Church and the American Legion Post 9. He enjoyed reading, traveling, hunting, fishing, camping, and “picking” on his wife. On April 23, 1958, Dale married the former Lois Jean DeVries in Muskegon and she survives him along with their sons, Scott (Linda) DeMarr and Craig (Julie) DeMarr; four grandchildren, Derek (Traci) DeMarr, Stephany (Eric Bowman) DeMarr, Tiffany (Andrew) McClain, and Samantha (Tim) Ostby; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffry Jon DeMarr; and two brothers, Donald and Ronald DeMarr. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Calvary Bible Church (4617 Grand Haven Rd., Norton Shores, 49441) with Pastors Lee Coggin and Ed Arndt co-officiating.
