Dale Ledinsky's Obituary
Dale “Herk” Edward Ledinsky, age 60, of Spring Lake died Sunday, June 25, 2006, due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident near Muskegon. He was born May 21, 1946, to James and Clara (Alderman) Ledinsky in Grand Haven; and he married Janice Lynn Bowmaster on June 22, 1974 in Muskegon. A lifelong area resident, Dale served with the Navy Seabee’s during the Vietnam War era. He earned a bachelors degree from Western Michigan University in 1973. Dale was a former assistant vice president of People’s Bank in Spring Lake; and later worked for the Headstart Program as a bus driver. Dale was a former member of the Spring Lake Central Business District Association, the Rotary Club of Spring Lake, the Spring Lake Lions Club, and the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation. Dale also had been an instructor for Project Business, a division of Junior Achievement. Survivors include his wife Janice of Spring Lake; mother Clara Ledinsky of Grand Haven; mother-in-law Margery Bowmaster of Muskegon; sister Dawn (Stephen) Roberts of Des Moines, IA; brother Jim (Barbara) Ledinsky of Barrington, IL; a sister-in-law Ruth Valliere of Plano, TX; brother-in-law Paul (Sherri) Bowmaster of Grand Haven; and several nieces, including his “sister/niece” Phyllis Behm of Grand Haven, and nephews. A funeral service for Dale will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. A celebration of Herk’s life, for those who were unable to attend the Friday service, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 3rd, at the funeral home, with Stephen W. Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.
