Dale Winston Volkers' Obituary
Mr. Dale W. Volkers, Age 83, went to be with the Lord on June 17th, 2018.
He was born in Muskegon, MI on November 29th, 1934, to John and Jessie (Mudge) Volkers, and resided in the Muskegon, Spring Lake area all his life. He was a member of the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School in 1953 and Western Michigan University in 1957. He served his country in the Army in both Active and Reserved duty from 1957 until 1963. He worked for Consumers Energy in accounting for Thirty Years until his Retirement. On June 27th, 1964, he married Eunice Kantola. Their 46 years of marriage lasted until her death on May 27th, 2011. Their years of Marriage were spent enjoying road trips, adventures at the cottage, and roaming the Upper Peninsula & Florida Keys. They shared a love for animals (especially their dogs) and the outdoors.
He is survived by his brother Paul (Nancy) Volkers; Brother/Sister-in-laws, Edna Johnston, Rudy Kantola, Christine Kantola, Gert Veeneman, Ralph & Gladys Rogers, Elizabeth Campbell, Ruth Kantola-Paul and Aggie Kantola. Dale was preceded by Brother/Sister-in-Laws, Arthur, Arnold, Alfred & Bill Kantola, Ralph Johnston, John Campbell, Melvin Veeneman, Arzella Kantola and Marge Kantola. He will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
The FUNERAL SERVICE will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 21st, 2018 at First Reformed Church, 3327 Mortimer Street, Ravenna, MI 49451 with Rev. Steve VanderWoude Officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Moorland Twp. Cemetery.
