Mr. Dale L. Wolffis' Obituary
Mr. Dale Wolffis, age 74, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 at home. He was born September 17, 1945 in Muskegon to Louis and Margaret (Brown) Wolffis. On December 27, 1965 he married Leandra “Lynde” Elwell at Allen Ave. Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon.
Dale was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. He was an armchair sports fan and supported the Detroit teams. He loved to travel to any warm destinations, especially the Caribbean, Mexico, and Hawaii and more recently “snowbirding” in Florida. One of his favorite things was cruising, even though he was afraid of the water. Whenever he left home his car surprisingly ended up at the state park. His biggest vice was cookies…any kind. He will be missed, but there will be more humming in heaven!
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lynde; three sons: Kevin (Connie) Wolffis, Kregg (Tami) Wolffis, and Kyle (girlfriend, Marie) Wolffis; six grandchildren: Alyssa, Dexter, Tyler, Bryce, Luke and Zach; great-granddaughter, Laci and another on the way. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Dorothie Elwell; brothers-in-law, Dan Zant and Paul Schultz; sister-in-law, Marlene Wolffis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Margaret; brother, Gordon Wolffis; sister, Shirley Schultz; father-in-law, Jack Elwell; and sister-in-law, Debi Zant.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday, August 1, 2020 under the south portico at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Due to COVID 19: all social distance restrictions and masks will be required. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Dale may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at http://www.sytsemafh.com.
