Daniel Howard Hilton Jr.'s Obituary
Daniel Howard Hilton Jr., age 66, passed away at home surrounded by his family on June 20, 2026. Dan was born on July 14, 1959 to Daniel and Marrilyn Hilton in Traverse City Michigan. Dan received his associate’s degree in accounting and made a career as a supervisor at Weyburn-Bartel and later L3 where he retired from in 2021. On April 12, 1989, Dan married Susan Weavers in Grand Haven, Michigan.
Dan was hardworking, kind and sociable. He was a member of the Fruitport Eagles #3666 and made many good friends there. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed camping, particularly in Croton where his family camped annually for 22 years. Dan found joy in working on and driving his Hot Rods, a 1970 Mustang and a 1968 Chevelle. He was also a meticulous caretaker of his lawn and landscaping, watering, fertilizing, mowing, and trimming to make sure every detail was always perfect.
Dan deeply valued his family and friends and loved to spoil the kids and grandkids. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He and Susan enjoyed the time they spent together traveling, especially to some of their favorite places, Loughlin, Nevada and Biloxi, Mississippi. Dan’s family will also miss his legendary spaghetti.
Dan is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Michelle Fortune, David (Stacey) Hilton, Samantha (Andrew) Tetzloff, and Christopher Hilton; grandchildren, Madalynn, Damian, Trenton, Brody, Alaya, Everett, Evelynn, Emilia, and Eleanor; siblings, Wesley (Danya) Hilton, Bryan Hilton, Terese (Tim) Oudemolen, and Deana Hanes. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
