Dana L. Gosselin's Obituary
Dana Leigh Gosselin went home to Heaven at the age of 43 on Saturday, August 9, 2025, after a brave fight with Appendix Cancer.
She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on October 4, 1981, to her parents Jan Kilpatrick and James Word. She graduated from Spring Lake High School in 2000 and earned a BA in Fine Arts and Education from Albion College, excelling in creative artistic pursuits.
She was the mother of three children—Mia, Lexi, and Ryder—from her first marriage, who were central to her life. After marrying Lance, their families were united, including his children, Weston and Morgan, creating a blended household. She was a dedicated spouse to Lance and an actively involved parent to all the children. Her home showcased her artistic sensibilities as well as her homemaking abilities.
Dana had a very successful restaurant career, excelling in management at the Olive Garden restaurant. She enjoyed working with and inspiring her staff and team members.
She also had a love obsession with all thing’s otters. Lance arranged a trip to Texas for Dana to swim with otters, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
Dana is survived by her loving husband, Lance; her children, Mia, Lexi and Ryder; stepchildren, Morgan and Weston; her mother, Jan (Rod) Kilpatrick; father, James (Jane) Word; siblings, Ellen (John) Langworthy, Angela (Max) Westfield, Keri Kilpatrick, Richard (Kelli) Kilpatrick and Kelly and Sean Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
