Dana Scott Rose's Obituary
It is with great sadness, that the family of Mr. Dana Scott Rose, age 58, of Spring Lake announces his passing on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Mercy Hospital. He was born March 28, 1959 in Muskegon, to John and Lois (Maher) Rose and was a graduate of Orchard View High School. He competed in Special Olympics in skiing, track, and swimming, and on June 14, 1991 he married Nancy Austin.
Dana worked for Bil-Mar, Kandu, Fruitport Orchard Market, and Burger King in Grand Haven and Spring Lake. He enjoyed video games, hanging out with his brothers and their families, riding his scooter, woodworking, watching movies, laughter, being around people, helping others, and watching NFL football. His favorite team, was any team that was playing against the Lions.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nancy; two brothers: Steven (Phyllis) Rose of California and Patrick (Gretchen) Rose of Grand Haven; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois; brother, John Rose, Jr., infant brother, Michael, and infant sister, Dorianne.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, The VanZantwick Chapel, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417 with Marian Heykoop officiating. Friends may meet the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorial contributions in memory of Dana may be given to DaVita PDI 16964 Robbins Road, Grand Haven, MI 49417.
