I was a student of Mrs. Meyers while I was at GHHS. Dan often came around during concert times offering support to not only Mrs. Meyers but her students. A friendly face that we could always count on. Meyers family, I send me deepest condolences and prayers for peace during this difficult time. Thinking of you all
Melissa and family… I am so very sorry to hear about Dan’s passing.
Melissa I remember you talking about him during our conversations. What a legacy he leaves behind.
Please know that my thoughts are with you and you girls. Sending much 💜.
My sincere condolences to Dan's family and friends. My favorite memories of Dan are of the joy and passion beaming from his face as he conducted Muskegon Community College band and jazz band performances. You just knew he loved bringing out the best in each musician. Dan reminded me of my love for music and the experiences I had in band long ago. He will be missed.
To Dan’s family and friends, my deepest and heartfelt condolences. We were band mates in the MMB. Although I haven’t seen Dan since the mid 1980s, my memory of him is vivid: he was bigger than life with a smile, laugh, and personality to match. I know you will miss him, but we carry him in our hearts. -Mark Spede
I knew Mr. Meyers through my time in orchestra with Mrs. Meyers. He was goofy guy and made every single Halloween concert memorable. After graduating high school, I took a year at MCC. I was delighted to see all the music classes they offered, and signed up for music theory with Mr. Meyers. Not only did he teach a daunting topic in an accessible way, he engaged the creativity of every student in that class. I still remember the circle of fifths and use the composing techniques and resources I learned about from Mr. Meyers. I was so lucky to be a student of both Mr. & Mrs. Meyers. Sending love to your family.
