Mr. Daniel G. Lewis' Obituary
Mr. Daniel G. Lewis, age 92, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at his home in Norton Shores. He was born in Grand Rapids on August 23, 1921 to John and Lavina (Lampert) Lewis. Dan was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp. In 1946, he co-founded Acme Bedding and operated it until retiring in 1982. Dan was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Muskegon Elks Lodge #274 and was also an avid pilot. On May 2, 1942, Daniel married the former Evelyn J. DeWitt and she preceded him in death in 2012. He is SURVIVED by his children, Judy (Don) Stillson, Chris (Paul) Bozik, Linda (Ken) Griffin and Dan (Mary Jane) Lewis; 16 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great- grandchildren. The FUNERAL MASS for Daniel will be 11 AM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. VISITATION will be from 6 – 8 PM Friday, January 3, 2014 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 with the ROSARY PRAYED at 6 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIALS in Dan’s memory may be made to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry.
