Daniel Mendel Magil's Obituary
Daniel Mendel Magil, age 70, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 14, 2024 following a brief illness. He was born March 12, 1954 in Muskegon to J. Mendel and Mary (Barnett) Magil. Dan was a 1973 graduate of Muskegon High School and had worked 20 years for ADAC Automotive. On October 18, 1991, he married Kathleen M. Kozal in Muskegon and had spent 45 wonderful years together. Dan was an avid history buff, was very artistic, enjoyed car trips to the beach, and loved to travel and try unique foods from around the country. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his nephews. Dan is survived by his wife, Kathy; brothers: Rob Magil of Minnesota and Joe Magil of California; brothers-in-law: Art (Rebekah) Kozal of Twin Lake, Jim (Joan) Kozal of Elk Rapids, MI, and John (partner, Roberto Perez) Kozal of Norton Shores; sister-in-law, Theresa (David) Ashley of Fruitport; many nieces and nephews and their families; and special nephews: Dan, Brandon, and Tom Kozal, and Adam and Kevin Ashley. He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law, Eugene and Joyce Kozal. A celebration of Dan’s life will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100.
