Daniel Wolf's Obituary
Mr. Daniel Wolf, age 90, passed away on his wife’s 90th birthday, December 6, 2019 in Muskegon. He was born in Muskegon on July 30, 1929 to William and Katherine (Bouwkamp) Wolf. Dan was employed by Sealed Power for 44 years prior to his retirement. On March 13, 1948, Dan married the former Thelma E. Butterfield in Muskegon and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2018. He was a dedicated and hard worker, and often did side work such as roofing and painting houses. Dan’s first job as a teenager was driving a truck, a job he truly loved, and after retirement from Sealed Power, he went back to driving for Burnside. Dan was an athlete and excelled in bowling, baseball, golf, and billiards. He enjoyed hiking, hunting, fishing, and spending time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Dan was also a family man, devoting himself to his wife, children and grandchildren, and will always be remembered fondly for his playfulness and love of water fights. He is survived by his three children, Pamela Witherell, Daniel (Debbie) Wolfe, Nora (Don) Wilke; seven grandchildren, Lisa (Kenny) White, Elizabeth Harvey, Renee (Allan) Chandler, Daniel Wolfe II, Kendra Best, Annie (Robert) Wachtor, Jaclyn (Brent) Nelson; 16 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen Allard; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma; his parents; and six siblings, Alice Denio, Johnnie Wolf, James Wolf, Arthur Wolf, Eunice Skuse, and David Wolf. SERVICES will be 11:00AM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Rev. John DeBoer officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to his service. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. MEMORIALS in memory of Dan may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association or Wounded Warrior Project.
