Daniel Joe Woodring's Obituary
Mr. Daniel Joe Woodring, age 52, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on September 16, 1971 to Ronald and Mary (Runion) Woodring. Dan was a Tribal Elder of the Nottawaseppi Band of Potawatomi Indians. He worked for over 25 years as a truck driver at Northern A-1 and Coca-Cola prior to his medical retirement earlier this year. As a boy he participated in Boy Scouts of America and earned his Eagle Scout Award. Dan was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying fishing and camping. He was very hardworking, always making sure he could provide for his wife and sons. Dan put his family first, enjoyed being a hockey dad, and appreciated the family and friends they made through his son’s hockey teams. On July 28, 2011, Dan married the former Amy R. Wilcoxson and she survives him along with their sons, Jordan Woodring and Jaxson Woodring; mother-in-law, Susan Wilcoxson; brother, Chris (Mandy) Woodring; nephews, Ronald Lee Woodring II and Anthony Joseph Woodring; and his beloved dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents. A CELEBRATION OF DAN’S LIFE will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, June 13, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services.
