Daniel C. Yerkie's Obituary
Daniel C. Yerkie, age 89, passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at a local hospital. He was born on May 14, 1930 to Amiel and Edith (Showmeyer) Yerkie in Muskegon. On June 30, 1950 he married Carolyn Maxine Delong who preceded him in death in 1960. After her death, he raised his three children on his own. Dan worked as a forklift operator for 35 years at Brunswick Inc. He had a passion for fun activities including biking, roller skating, and hiking. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. SURVIVORS include his three children, Brenda (Rick) Charles, Daniel (Carla) Yerkie Jr. and Mark (Cindy) Yerkie; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and one brother, Gary (Joan) Yerkie. Dan was also preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother. A PRIVATE FAMILY SERVICE was held due to current COVID-19 restrictions. Burial took place at Oakwood Cemetery.
