Daniel C. Springstead's Obituary
Mr. Daniel C. Springstead, age 71, went to be with his Lord early Wednesday morning, March 15, 2006. He was born September 28, 1934 in Muskegon to Harold & Marie (Dusseljee) Springstead and had resided in the area most of his life. Dan was a member of First Christian Reformed Church where he had served as an Elder and Deacon. He was formerly a member of East Muskegon Christian Reformed Church where he had served as a Cadet Counselor. He was a 35 year member of the Counselor’s Quartet and enjoyed clock making, wood-working, camping and spending time with his family and friends. Dan was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. On February 10, 1961 he married the former Carol Vanderlaan and she survives him along with 3 children, Luke (Diane) Springstead of Muskegon, Susan (Daniel) Adams of Rockford and Amy Springstead of Blue Island, IL; 4 grandchildren, Joshua, Alyssa and Abigail Springstead and Haley Adams; 1 sister, Sandra (Robert) Tanner of Murray, KY and 1 brother, James (Marian) Springstead of Baldwin, MI. SERVICES will be 11 AM Saturday at First Christian Reformed Church (1450 Catherine Ave.) with the Rev. Michael Borgert officiating. Burial will be in Egelston Twp. Cemetery. VISITATION with Dan’s family will be 2-4 & 6-8PM Friday at Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210).MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to the Muskegon Christian School, Western Michigan Christian High School or the Cadet Program of First CRC will be appreciated.
