Daniel Martin Szczerba's Obituary
Mr. Daniel M. Szczerba, age 70, passed away Friday, July 22, 2011 at his home. He was born April 16, 1941 in Erie, PA to Paul and Annette (Kita) Szczerba. He joined the U.S. Army, serving in Europe with NATO forces and during the Viet Nam War. He married the former Judith Rae Spiteri on May 9, 1964 in Erie, PA. They moved to Carmel, IN near Indianapolis where he was employed first as Vice-president of Performance Feeders, Co and later as an Automotive Engineer for Ford Motor Co./Visteon. After retiring from Visteon he worked as a freelance engineer. They moved to North Muskegon, MI in 2007. His favorite pastime was watching movies, especially westerns, with his family. He is survived by: his wife, Judie; 4 children, Daniel (Claudia) Szczerba II of Darmstadt, Germany, Diane (Wade) Anderson of Muskegon, Donna (Tony Clegg) Szczerba of Muncie, IN and Debra (Matt) Zintel of Fishers, IN; 3 grandchildren, Jennifer and Aaron Szczerba and Kelsey Anderson; 1 great-granddaughter, Maya Szczerba. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Josephine Szczerba and one sister, Shirley Ross. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no service or visitation at this time.
