Danny R. Morehouse's Obituary
Danny Rex Morehouse, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, in Holland, MI. He was born on January 29, 1949, in Muskegon, MI, to his parents Robert and Dora Ella (Pollard) Morehouse. He graduated from Reeths Puffer High School in 1968, and then went on to proudly serve as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. On February 18, 1978, Danny married the former Kelly Wood, and they spent 44 wonderful years together. He worked for many years at Muskegon Federal Savings & Loan, then went on to work in IT for Mona Shores Public Schools and Brunswick. Danny was quite a history buff, he enjoyed reading or watching anything to do with WWI and WWII. In his free time he enjoyed deer hunting, driving down to Pere Marquette on nice days, dancing and listening to polka music, and coaching his kids’ baseball, softball, and football teams. He enjoyed the occasional trip to visit family in Texas. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kelly Morehouse; three children: Heidi (Jeff) Gaston, Lindsey (Ryan) Stark, and Jonny (Leah) Morehouse; seven grandchildren: Morgan, Aubrey, Emory, Charlie, Kellen, Connor, and Porter; four siblings: Larry (Kathy) Morehouse, Rosemary Yemc, James (Tangi) Morehouse, and Patricia (Rick) Egeler; mother in-law, Darlene Wood; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dora Ella Morehouse; and father in-law, Norman Wood. A FUNERAL will be taking place for Danny at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444, with VISITATION taking place Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 PM.
