Danny R. Warner's Obituary
Danny R. Warner, age 58, of Livonia, MI, and formerly of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007, at a Livonia care facility. He was born May 14, 1949, in Grand Haven to Lonzo and Myrtle (Kelderhouse) Warner.
Danny was a 1967 graduate of Grand Haven High School and a graduate of Muskegon Business College. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, and he was a member of the American Foundry Society. He was employed in industrial sand production and sales and had worked for several large companies and corporations, including Sargent Companies of Saginaw, Sand Products Corp. of Detroit, Construction Aggregates Corp. of Michigan, and Nugent Sand Company. Danny was very involved in community activities, and he served on numerous boards and committees, including Grand Haven’s Harbor Board and the City of Ferrysburg Tax Increment Authority. He was also a dedicated business partner to the City of Ferrysburg Parks & Recreation Department, and he served as a volunteer youth probation officer for Ottawa County. Danny enjoyed golf, softball, bowling, fishing, traveling, reading, and home improvement projects.
Survivors include a daughter, Tracy (James) Baughman of Holland; a son, Ryan Warner of Anchorage, AK; two grandchildren; a sister, Janet Frascato of Dearborn Heights, MI; two brothers, Gene (Patty) Warner of Grand Haven and Gerald (Bev) Warner of Spring Lake; a brother-in-law, Eugene Ott; and several nieces and nephews, many of whom visited him during his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Julia Ott.
The service for Danny will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Thomas Cook officiating. Friends may meet the family 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the funeral home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery in Grand Haven.
