Darcey J. Toscano-Schulist's Obituary
Darcey J. Toscano-Schulist, age 51, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Mercy Hospital. She was born November 6, 1969 in Muskegon to Olga (Martinez) Toscano and was a lifelong resident of the area. Darcey was a graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central Class of 1988 and earned her Certified Nurses Assistant Certificate. She worked 15 years for Community Mental Health and 10 years for MOKA. Darcey was an avid fan of MCC Football and enjoyed gardening, spending time with her son, and was a very gifted artist. Fall was Darcey’s favorite season. She will be greatly missed. On November 5, 2018, she married Joseph M. Schulist and he survives her along with her son, Esteven Toscano; her mother, Olga Martinez-Toscano; her in-laws, Gene and Julia Sugarbaker; 1 brother, John (Stephanie) Toscano; 1 sister, Maria (Anthony) Secord; special sister, Michelle Murdock-Lambers; brother-in-law, Christopher Sugarbaker; her nieces and nephews, Dominic, Francesca, MiKahla, AriElla; special nephews, Justin and Jonavin; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Demetrio and Guadalupe Martinez. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Pastor Robert Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Tuesday outside under the South Portico at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Muskegon Catholic Education Foundation.
