Mr. Darien Matthew Jaunese's Obituary
Mr. Darien Matthew Jaunese, age 90, passed away Tuesday morning, January 10, 2017 at a local nursing home. Darien was born June 24, 1926 in Muskegon to David and Blanche (Heart) Jaunese. Darien served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW ll. On June 27, 1956, he married the former Marion Wright and she survives him. Darien was a faithful Christian, and really loved the Lord, serving as an elder or deacon for several churches throughout the years. He was also very active in the Gideon Bible Organization over the years. Darien worked for the Muskegon Chronicle for 41 years, becoming their production manager, retiring in 1988. He was an avid coin collector and had served on the Family Financial Credit Union Board. He and Marion are members of Ferry Memorial Reformed Church in Montague. In addition to Marion, his wife of 60 years, Darien is survived by his children, Jean (Bill) Schulz of Muskegon, Kelly (Joe) Wright of Illinois, Mark (Linda) Jaunese of Orlando, FL, David (Paula) Jaunese of Fremont, Jim Jaunese of Boyne City, Carol (Gary) Shepherd of Indiana, and Mike (Julie) Jaunese of Tampa, FL; son-in-law, Todd Rouse of Grand Haven; special granddaughter, Danielle Kidner; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Darien was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sue Rouse; his first wife, Donna Mae Coverly; and sisters, Helen Hebestrait and Gretchen Smith. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2 PM Saturday, January 14, 2017 at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Leighton Seys officiating. Full Military Rites will be afforded under the auspices of VFW Muskegon County Council. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (1-2PM). MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Ferry Memorial Reformed Church. Interment in Fruitland Township Cemetery.
