Darlene Hollis' Obituary
A Darlene Hollis, age 95, of Grand Haven died Wednesday, March 25, 2026. She was born February 16, 1931, in Jamestown, Michigan to Darl and Maxine (Moyles) Hollis. She graduated from Hudsonville High School (Class of 1949) and attended Grand Rapids Junior College. She moved to Grand Haven in 1968. Darlene was employed at GMAC in Grand Rapids for 30 years, most of that time as Brance Manager’s Secretary. Later she worked for 20 years as secretary at Trinity Reformed Church. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, serving as deacon, member of the Mission Committee, Geneva Choir and Presbyterian Women. She was also a P.E.O. and a member of the Women’s Club and Tri-Cities Garden Club. Darlene is survived in death by her sisters: Patricia Nienhouse of Grand Haven, Norma Creasy of Grand Haven; nephews: Phillip Creasy, Dale Nienhouse, Michael (Jaime) Nienhouse, David (Dani) Hollis; great nephews: Drew Hollis, Devin Hollis, Weston (Sue) Creasy, River Creasy; great nieces: Amanda Hollis, Lindsay Hollis, Marissa Nienhouse; great great-nephews: Dominic Creasy, Dezmond Creasy. She was preceded in death by a nephew: Paul Creasy; brother: Daniel; sister-in-law: Eleanor Hollis and brother-in-law: Robert Nienhouse. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven, 508 Franklin Ave. Grand Haven, MI. 49417 with Rev. Dr. Troy Hauser Brydon presiding. Darlene’s family will be available to meet friends 1 hour before the service. A time of light refreshment will be served at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 508 Franklin Ave. Grand Haven, MI. 49417, or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 424 East 92nd St., New York, NY. 10128.
