Darlene Rae Pikaart's Obituary
Mrs. Darlene Rae “Dar” Pikaart, age 76, went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on November 1, 1941 to Roderick and Helen (Carpenter) Theile. On March 30, 1972, Dar married Mel Pikaart in Muskegon and he preceded her in death in 2013. Dar was employed by Howmet for 32 years prior to her retirement in 2001. She was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church where she was active with the Immaculate Heart of Mary Circle. She was also very active in the Cursillo and DeColores Encristo Community in Muskegon. Dar was an avid golfer and member of Lincoln Golf Club. In their retirement years, Dar and Mel spent many winters in Texas where they made a home with many new friends. She enjoyed painting ceramics, crocheting, reading, and watching movies. Most importantly, Dar loved her family and enjoyed time spent with them. She is survived by her children, Tracie Deets, Tamera (Dave) Gramza, Terri (Carl) Grimm, Amy Hargrove; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Deborah (Steven) Huggins; brother, Thomas (Lynda) Theile; and beloved dog, Lily. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 1:00 PM Monday, April 16, 2018 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Godfrey Onyekwere presiding. VISITATION will be from 11AM-1PM Monday, April 16, 2018 at Prince of Peace. Burial will be in Laketon Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dar’s family to help with medical and funeral expenses would be appreciated.
