Darlene R. Bishop's Obituary
Mrs. Darlene R. “Dar” Bishop, age 78, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was born on September 16, 1932 to Fredrick and Mildred (Gustafson) Brott in Muskegon. Dar was a member of Allen Ave. Christian Reformed Church. She loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed drawing, watching the birds and writing poems. On July 6, 1954, she married Charles R. “Chuck” Bishop, and they have been together for 60 and a half years. Chuck survives her along with 5 children: Dale (Kathy) Bishop of Three Rivers, MI, Sharon (Greg) VanderStelt of Twin Lake, Jacob (Mary) Bishop of Spring Lake, Sandra (Steve) Laney of Muskego, WI, and Susan Luders of Fruitport; 10 grandchildren; 2 brothers: Darryl (Norma) Brott, Robert (Mary) Brott; sister, Delores (Richard) Perry; and special friend, Donna Jones. Dar was preceded in death by her twin sister, Arlene Perry; sister, Carol Wilson; and brothers, Fred, Richard and Donald Brott. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be 11 AM Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Allen Ave. Christian Reformed Church with Pastor Robert L. Bierenga officiating. VISITATION with her family will be 2 -4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 Burial will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in Dar’s name to Allen Ave CRC Children’s Ministries will be appreciated.
