On our vacation to Gatlinburg, TN grandpa and I were outside waiting for everyone else to finish shopping. It was cloudy and misting, he looked up at an orange street light and said "The suns coming out." I smiled and didn't correct him because years before that I did the same thing with a white street light thinking it was the moon. I remember thinking it must be a family thing.
I will always treasure the memories of the time Ed and I shared with him and Barb and especially the vacations we took together. He will be greatly missed. Love these sweet people.
My Grandpa's wit was always on point and he never ceased to make us all laugh. I wish I could be in MI with all of our family during this hard time but I am so glad I got to spend one more Christmas with him. I never got to sing "Batman" for him but I'll always remember that he asked.

My Dad always found ways to make me laugh. One day I stopped in just to visit and I suppose because I did borrow things from him quite often, he asked me what I wanted. I told him I just stopped to say hello and we went on with our visit. As I was leaving he said, "You'd better grab a shovel or something on your way out so it won't be a wasted trip!". When I did return something I had borrowed, he'd say, "It's about time, I was just about to call the law!".
