Darwin Charles Sheffer's Obituary
Mr. Darwin Charles Sheffer, age 73, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008 at an area hospital. Darwin was born May 20, 1934 in Muskegon to Charles and Julia (Hittle) Sheffer. He was a life long resident of Muskegon. Darwin was a baker for Winger Bakery for close to 25 years, and also baked for a short time at Snow White Bakery prior to this retirement. Mr. Sheffer was a long time member of Community of Christ Church where he served as a Deacon. Darwin loved nature and the Great Lakes, and they would be the subject of many of his sketches and drawings. He is SURVIVED by his sister, Wilma Sheffer of Muskegon; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Sheffer of Muskegon; 2 nieces, Connie (Dale) Kanouff of Las Vegas, and Denise Neff of Montague; his nephew, Brian (Phyllis) Sheffer of Muskegon; many great nieces and nephews; and his dog, Buster. He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11AM Saturday, April 26, 2008, at the Community Church of Christ, (2671 Ducey) with his pastor, Elder Arnold “Skip” Hicks officiating.
