David L. Bowen's Obituary
Mr. David L. Bowen, age 74, passed away on January 11, 2015. He was born on July 15, 1940 to Lynn and Mary (Tyler) Bowen in Muskegon. Prior to his retirement in 2005, David worked as a shipping supervisor for American Coil Spring. As he grew up baseball was his favorite sport but later on he enjoyed bowling and playing golf. He married Carolyn Laskowicz-Dunlap and she survives him along with 4 of his children, Kirk Bowen of Juno, AK, Gina (Stu) Brannan of Twin Lake, Laurel (Peter) Sass and step-son, Scott Dunlap both of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Angela (Will) Franklyn, Alicia Poulin, Trey Bowen, Isaac Sass and Katherine Sass; 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Tom (Sue) Bowen; sisters, Barbara (Bill) DeGroot and Mindy (Greg) Fernandes. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Bowen. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 231-759-8565 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers please consider donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
