David Arthur Boyce's Obituary
David Arthur Boyce, age 68, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at home. He was born May 14, 1946, in Pontiac to Herman and Bernice (Kresge) Boyce, and married the former Barbara Koehler on June 3, 1972 in Saginaw.
David received his Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University in Business Administration, and worked as an insurance underwriter for Hastings Mutual Insurance. David served his country in the Army, and was a member of the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28. He was a devoted swim parent, following his kid’s swimming careers. He also loved following the Grand Valley State University Swimming and Diving team that his son coaches. He enjoyed traveling, having been to 48 of the 50 states.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barb Boyce of Grand Haven; two daughters, Suzie Sweeten of Tulsa, OK, and Amanda (Ken) Curvin of Byron Center; his son, Andy Boyce of Allendale; six grandchildren, Dustin, Madison, Marissa, Dominic, Scarlett, and Colton; his mother-in-law, Ann Koehler; and his sister, Carolyn Gray of Sun City, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, Edwin Koehler.
The funeral service for David will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Pastor John Brown officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28 Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family from 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery.
