Meeting him as a young boy about 7 for the first time thinking wow that guy smiles allot then being with him every Sunday for 35 years after the age of 15 always being welcomed by that smile and a positive word even when playing the wrong chord then as a grown father he welcomes my boys the same way at every concert... gonna miss ya brother.. im thinking he's hitting all the right notes in heaven now.
Rose, it was with a heavy heart that I heard of Dave's home going. I always enjoyed Dave and you when you sang with the White Lake Festival Choir. It was also great that Unity Reformed had the Counselors do a few concerts over the years. Hugs to you and the family. He will be missed. Jeannie Schuitema
Dave was a dear man who used humor to uplift me every time I saw him. I am so thankful to have had some wonderful time with him and Rose when they came for dinner several weeks ago. I am so appreciative of that time together and we will miss him. He now walks and talks with His Lord.

We extend our sympathy to Rose & the family. Dave always had a smiling face when you saw him. My memories of him go back to his days a a member of the Counselors Quartet as well as him being a counselor for the Cadet club of New Era CRC, May you have peace at this time.
We met David and Rose while camping with our daughter Donna and son-in-law Mike at Lake Lelanau. What a family! Kraig and Amy, longtime friends of Donna and Mike brought us into the family after introductiions. We too felt like we had known the family our entire lifetime. Gracious and jovial, always the jokester, David made us feel right at home and part of the family. We haven't returned to camping nor revisited with David and Rose but those memories will linger a lifetime. Thanks for the memories. We know David is cracking jokes in heaven.
