He was a longtime member at Forest Park Covenant Church, where he served as a senior high youth leader, choir member, and trustee board member. He also helped build the Mary and Joseph Houses, and participated in multiple mission trips to Beattyville, Kentucky. He was a member of the Lions Club and Toastmasters International, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and had an appreciation for old cars.
