David A. Cribbs' Obituary
David A. Cribbs, age 90, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019. He was born December 21, 1928 in Muskegon to Arthur and Margaret (Denhof) Cribbs. Dave graduated from Muskegon High School in 1946 and following graduation enlisted in the Army National Guard during the Korean War. On March 29, 1952, he married Jacquelyne Hack in Indiana and she preceded him in death in 2009. For 29 years he worked for Misco-Howmet (Arconic) prior to retirement. Dave was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, life-time member of the VFW Post #8846, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Muskegon Aerie #668. Dave was an avid fisherman and sports lover on TV. He also enjoyed golfing with friends and family, riding his bicycle, and taking long hikes. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Kathleen (Floyd Gee) VanPopering of N. Muskegon, Thomas (Kathy Jo) Cribbs of Twin Lake; 3 grandchildren: Kharna (Thomas) Simonson, Mitchell (Mary) VanPopering, Jennifer (Jeff) VanMunster; 5 great-grandchildren: Kylie and Katie Simonson, Xavier VanPopering, Mollie Pulsipher, and Ella VanMunster; brother, Russell (Shirley) Cribbs of Grand Rapids; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: William Cribbs and Robert Davis; and a sister that passed away at birth, Kathleen Cribbs. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Community United Methodist Church (1614 Ruddiman Dr., North Muskegon) with Pastor Jeremy Williams officiating. VISITATION with the family will take place one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS to the Harbor Hospice Foundation or the church will be appreciated.
