David Henry DeWall's Obituary
Mr. David Henry DeWall, age 75, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 15, 2018 after an eight-year battle with multiple myeloma. Dave was born in Muskegon on August 5, 1943 to Henry and Adeline (Bishop) DeWall. He graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School, class of 1961. Dave was a dedicated and hard worker, having been employed by Sealed Power for 43 years prior to his retirement in 2007. In his younger years, Dave enjoyed spending time waterskiing on Mona Lake, and most recently enjoyed spending summers at their cottage on West Lake. He was an avid sports fan, following Western Michigan Christian High School, the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, and Lions. Dave enjoyed bowling, golf, working in his yard and road trips with his wife. He loved his role as “Papa” and supporting his grandchildren at their games and performances. He was a member of Covenant Life Church and attended Twin Lake United Methodist Church during the summer. On August 16, 1975, Dave married the former Sandra Schey and she survives him along with their children; Courtney and Jamie Stahl, their children, Zane and Nora; Jason and Meghan DeWall, their sons, Luke and Grant; his daughter, Kristin and Paul Abair, her son, Devin Rakowski; two sisters, Gilda and Stan Boelkins and Linda and Marty Alberts; brother-in-law, Norm Rosema and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Rosema. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Covenant Life Church (101 Columbus Ave. Grand Haven) with Pastor Bob DeVries officiating. VISITATION will be from 5-8 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 and from 10-11AM Wednesday at church. MEMORIALS may be directed to Grand Haven Christian School, Western Michigan Christian High School, or Harbor Hospice Foundation.
