Mr. David James Horness' Obituary
Mr. David James Horness, age 73, passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Muskegon on October 30, 1941 to James and Lois M. (Clay) Horness. He owned David Horness Builders and took great pride in his work, especially the log homes he built. David had formerly been employed as an Eaton County Sheriff’s Deputy and in his retirement years, he had worked as a contractor for the Muskegon Chronicle. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, vintage cars, riding his motorcycle and traveling. He will be remembered as an independent man and a supportive and loving family man. On September 7, 1963, David married the former Kathryn Summerfield in Muskegon and she survives him along with their three daughters, Lisa (Randall) Johnson, Cynthia (Edward) Guerrero and Linette Cryderman; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Carol) Horness and one sister, Lois A. Horness. He was preceded in death by his parents and four grandchildren, Kevin, Kelly, Michael and Derrick Cryderman. SERVICES will be at 2:00 PM Monday, December 1, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor Fredrick Summerfield officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-5 PM Sunday, November 30, 2014 and 1 hour prior to his service on Monday.
